The key to attracting higher-paying customers is positioning yourself as the best option.

But this doesn’t mean simply studying who you think your ideal customer is and trying to fit a weird mold that you don’t really understand.

I would suggest a different approach.

Begin with your expertise.

If you lean on expertise alone, you will often be commoditized.

We need to go a level deeper.

We need to add some specificity / value to the equation.

Consider everything that makes you unique—your experiences, hobbies, approach, worldviews, etc.

List these elements and weave them into your messaging so that it makes sense doesn’t get overlooked.

By doing this, for the right customers, you won’t just be another option—you’ll be the only option.
