is it delusion or confidence?

A friend of mine is an incredibly talented songwriter.

Yet, even after 15 years of constant work, he still hasn’t had his big break.

Watching many of his peers find success as he's just barely scraping by makes him feel crazy at times.

But he keeps going.

Some see this as irresponsible.

Others may laugh at his misfortune.

But I find it deeply admirable.

The music industry is notoriously challenging, but perhaps that's exactly the way it should be.

The ones who succeed are often those who persist with unwavering belief in their craft, even when it borders on feeling unrealistic at times.

In truth, this level of self-belief isn’t delusional or arrogant as it may seem — it’s essential.

Before you can expect customers or fans to recognize your value, you have to see it for yourself first.

If you don’t truly believe in what you bring to the table, how can you expect anyone else to?
